Results of the eleventh survey...

First off, my apologies. I didn't send out any notifications about this survey ending to people who asked, I didn't update it in any meaningful manner, and, in fact, I stopped taking surveys a while ago, and didn't update this page.

I received nearly 700 responses before I finally broke down and put the stats together. Point totals therefore are based on percentage, rather than sheer statistics.

I'd say it won't happen again, but I'd probably be lying. I will try to not let it happen again, though.

On with the results...

1) Name someone, real or fictional, that you would consider a "lady".

Princess Diana [24]
Mom [6]
Jackie Kennedy [5]
Queen Elizabeth [5]
Hillary Clinton [3]
Scarlett O'Hara [3]
Mary Poppins [3]
Audrey Hepburn [3]

These seem like reasonable choices to me. Also receiving votes were Lena Horne, Betty Boop, Jane Austen, Ru Paul, and, most surprising, Margaret Thatcher.

2) What is the most over-rated movie?

Titanic [31]
The Blair Witch Project [5]
Star Wars [4]
Gone With the Wind [2]
Jaws [2]
Scary Movie [2]
Scream [2]

Titanic, in a landslide. As if I'm surprised. A few people suggested Dumb and Dumber, Showgirls or Waterworld; among 3 movies I didn't think people even rated, much less over-rated. Ah well.

3) What is your favorite non-gift giving holiday?

Thanksgiving [29]
Independence Day / Fourth of July [18]
Halloween [14]
Easter [11]
St. Patrick's Day [5]
New Year's Day [4]
Labor Day [4]

Votes from outside the US for Canada Day, Australia Day, Boxing Day, Queen's Birthday and St. John the Baptiste Day (which is June 24 in Quebec).

4) What task do you procrastinate about the most?

Cleaning House [28]
Dishes [14]
Homewark [9]
Laundry [8]
Paying Bills [5]
Work [4]
Cleaning the Bathroom [3]

Personally, paying bills is my choice, with cleaning the bathroom (mentioned specifically enough to be broken out seperately) a close second.

5) Name something without wheels.

Boat [12]
House [10]
Computer [6]
Table [5]
Sled [5]
Television [3]
Chair [3]
Dog [3]

Sometimes you just have to ask a silly question. And it's hard to get sillier than this one.

lime.s memo.s nonv.s 6) What is a favorite childhood memory?

Christmas [12]
Playing [10]
Birthdays [7]
Vacation [7]
Grandparents [3]
Bicycle Riding [2]
Camping [2]

Many, many different answers here, with First Kiss just missing out, and way, way too many other responses. A very heartwarming question to read the answers of.

7) Name a non-violent video game.

Pac Man [20]
Super Mario [15]
Tetris [15]
Pong [6]
Family Feud [4]
Mario Kart [2]

Well, I'm not certain I'd consider Super Mario to be completely non-violent, and an arguement could be made about Pac Man, but it'd certainly be difficult to point to real violence in Tetris or Pong. Or Bust A Move, You Don't Know Jack, Myst, or Sim City. Among others. Those of you who said that there aren't any, or couldn't think of any, need to try harder.

A few people also said Monopoly, but having played it in the past, the game may not be violent, but...

LAST) "There once was a man from Nantucket" or "There once was a woman from Venus"?

There once was a man... [64]
There once was a woman... [36]

I enjoy limericks, and I was curious. What can I say?
