Results of the sixth survey...

100 some-odd responses, some more odd than others. I probably got a little too esoteric in some cases - my apologies.

Here are the results...

1) What computer program (including games) best models your life?

Windows (95, 98 or unspecified) [7]
You Don't Know Jack [6]
Doom [5]
Family Feud [4]
Solitaire [4]

Oh my. My sympathies go out to many of you...and I want to meet the person living the life of Leisure Suit Larry.

2) What is your most admirable vice?

Honesty [5]
Sex [4]
Drinking [4]
Gluttony [3]
Generosity [2]
Perfectionism [2]
Smoking [2]

Honest to a fault - I can understand that. But with answers like "chocolate", "my eyes" and, frankly, "smoking" it would appear that many of you didn't understand the question. I'll try to be more concrete in the future.

3) What is your favorite (or least disliked, anyway) government agency (any govt)?

IRS [20]
FBI [8]
CIA [3]
Post Office [3]
President [3]

Everyone complains about their taxes, but nobody does anything about them. Probably because they all love the IRS so much. One person with a really sick sense of humor said the DMV.

4) What is your favorite piece of gallery art (painting, sculpture and the like)?

Mona Lisa [25]
David [9]
The Starry Night [5]
The Thinker [5]
The Scream [5]
Venus de Milo [4]
Dogs Playing Poker [3]

Is the Mona Lisa really that good, or is it just that famous? Well, whatever, it does seem to be popular. Oh...and a few notes: The Starry Night is by Van Gogh (note artist), The Scream is by Munch (note spelling) and I was looking for specific works of art - not whether you prefered one form over the other - to those of you who answered "Sculpture".

Nobody answered Sunday Afternoon In the Park... or Nighthawks, which are two of my favorites. I'm disappointed.

5) What word would you like to use in conversation more often than you currently do?

no [6]
fuck [4]
discombobulated [3]
love [3]
please [3]
sex [3]
yes [3]

Wow. Such a plethora [2] of words you want to use. Y'all are a literate bunch. Or want to be.

6) What is the most important invention of the last 1000 years?

Computer [23]
Electricity [13]
Car [11]
Television [9]
Light Bulb [7]
Telephone [5]
phone [4]
Printing Press [3]

Well, some cable station declared Guttenberg, inventor of the printing press, as the most important person of the millenium. It would appear that most of you weren't quite thinking that big.

Or maybe I'm not thinking big enough, in not understanding answers of the Curling Iron, Caller ID and the Karaoke Machine.

7) What time did you wake up today?

7:00 AM [15]
8:00 AM [11]
6:30 AM [7]
10:00 AM [7]
11:00 AM [7]
9:00 AM [6]
6:00 AM [5]
5:00 Am [5]
8:30 AM [5]

A good range of times, I suppose. If I were really ambitious I'd look at when all of these surveys arrived, and figure out which were sent on weekends, and which were on weekdays, but frankly, I don't care that much.

LAST) This statement is True? or False?

true [87] false [10]

You want the truth? You can't handle the truth.
