What a Thousand People Think

Forty-seven people are thinking about politics
Twenty-eight are wondering if their pets are ok.

One hundred and six are having sexual daydreams about
   about coworkers or classmates
While thirty-two others think only of themselves.

Ten people are recalling a joke from television last night
Compared to the eighty-eight who are reliving last night's pain.

There are fifty-nine people driving with thoughts of violence
But only two people right now who are driven by those thoughts.

Seventy people are drunk or stoned, not thinking anything
And three people who have meditated to that state.

Fifty-five people have numbers going through their brain,
Forty-four people have pictures.
Thirty-three have songs.
Twenty-two have words.
And eleven remember how something smelled, or tasted, or felt.

Sixty-eight people are hungry right now,
and forty-four have thirst

Nineteen people are wondering if it will rain,
Twelve people are actively wishing that it would.

Two hundred two minds are making seperate plans for this evening
And four lonely souls are regretting what they did last night.

Seventeen people have added up these numbers to see if they equal 1000
Eight are taking my word for it that it does

Sixteen people out there believe all this is true
One person believes part of this is true
and one other believes none of it.

And then there's you.
What do you think?
