They told me we should dress up for halloween
at work today.
So I put on my button-down shirt,
put on my tie,
wore the nice slacks
and jacket.
And a mask,
eggshell white,
with a UPC code.
My coworkers didn't appear to understand.
Or if they did, they said nothing.
Perhaps they were afraid to speak.
In any case, I'll be wearing
almost the same outfit tomorrow.
Button down shirt,
nice slacks.
And a mask.
Not eggshell white,
no UPC code,
but that of a happy worker.
